Overview: A nasty weekend experience at this infamous part of Redbridge for cyclists.

Dr Bike were working hard at Wanstead Festival to carry out free bike checks and minor repairs.
The festival, delayed by a couple of weeks, went ahead in lovely sunny weather on Sunday 2 October and attracted crowds as usual. Wendy, pictured, did put in a plea for people to get their bike checks done early: “We did about nine bikes this morning but there’s always a rush towards the end” she said.
Dr Bike is run by Redbridge Cycle Confident, who also organise rides and cycle training. Details can be found on their website https://www.cycleconfident.com/sponsors/london-borough-of-redbridge/
Overview: Tonight’s ride around 6.30pm was an interesting one at this section!

Overview: Only super confident and skilled cyclists will take this section on. High speed, close pass and zero infrastucture. However, there are some small improvements that can be done like ASL boxes at lights to help cyclists filter to the lights and safely take off. Clayhall Avenue has a lot of space that can combine a cycling lane and parking but instead it is fully car-centric. This section connects Fairlop Waters Country Park and South Woodford and desperately needs more attention.

Our review: a mixed result of this small section when we cycled from Wanstead park to the Greenman roundabout yesterday evening. What’s your experience on this section?
